Popular Telugu actor and satirist Kathi Mahesh met with an accident in Andhra Pradeshs Nellore district on Saturday and was admitted to a hospital nearby.
"Today (Saturday) early morning he (Mahesh) met with an accident. He has been admitted to the Medicover Hospital in Nellore Rural area," Nellore ASP Venkata Ratnam told IANS. The ASP said the vehicle in which Mahesh was travelling hit a container truck at the rear side.
Mahesh is a vociferous critic of actor-politician and Janasena party founder Pawan Kalyan and is known for his comments and observations on various subjects ranging from films to politics on Telugu TV channels.
He has acted in several Telugu movies before entering politics. Most recently he campaigned for the YSRCP in the Tirupati Parliamentary bypoll.
Mahesh was popular in Telugu films as an actor and filmmaker before his stint in Bigg Boss Telugu season 1 hosted by Jr. NTR. He is known for his controversial remarks on societal issues and was barred from Hyderabad for his comments on Ramayana.
Recently, he launched his music video series 'Morning Raaga' and is active on Facebook.
