"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" has gone all out to bring several fan-favourite characters, from the ninja turtle world, to life in the upcoming live action film. Apart from deadly villains Bebop and Rocksteady, another major highlight of the film will be Stephen Amell as Casey Jones.
The "Arrow" star recently spoke in detail about his role in the film and teased his relationship with the turtles. And judging by what he said, it'll be pretty cool to see him fighting alongside the heroes with the half shell.
"His relationship with the Turtles at the beginning of the movie is, he's totally frightened by them," Amell told IGN before correcting himself, "...Or, no, I wouldn't say frightened actually, I'd say much more taken aback."
The actor added, "I mean, we live in a pretty fantastical world with the Turtles, but you know, he has to reconcile the whole, 'What are these seven-foot tall talking turtles doing in front of me?' But Casey has some information that the Turtles need. So I'd say that there's a bit of an uneasy relationship at the beginning, but a stronger alliance forms as he moves through."
When asked to talk about Casey's individual equation with the turtles, Amell hinted towards an "adversarial relationship" with Raphael. Now, that's understandable considering Raph's "I-don't-play-well-with-others" attitude.
"He's got a slightly adversarial relationship with Raphael. But that's sort of Raphael's personality and Casey's personality. With Michelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo, he's much more amicable, but it's a little bit confrontational with Raphael."
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows" is slated to release on June 3 in the U.S. and June 10 in India.
