With Uttar Pradesh assembly elections scheduled to start from February 8, Team Anna has announced that they will start campaigning in the state from February 3. However, social activist Anna Hazare is unlikely to take part in the campaign due to bad health.
The elections for the 403-member state assembly will be held in seven phase between February 8 and March 4. Team Anna had earlier said that they will not target any particular party in the coming elections but their true color will come out only when they announce their campaigning plans.
It may be recalled that Team Anna campaigned against the Congress in Haryana last October. They also threatened to campaign against the Congress for coming up with a weak Lokpal Bill. The anti-corruption bill was passed by the Lok Sabha but got stuck in the Rajya Sabha.
