Taylor Swift takes pride in her squad. Her tightly knit group of girlfriends have had her back whenever she's needed it. Swift herself has said that they've helped her get through some difficult times in life.
And according to reports, Swift, 26, is annoyed with Demi Lovato's criticism of her squad. The Bad Blood singer disagrees with Lovato and thinks her comments were unnecessary.
"Taylor has a tight group of women in her life that all have her and each others' back and sometimes people just want that. She thought it was unnecessary for her to make those comments. They both have never been really good friendsk," E! quoted a source as saying.
The Confident singer earlier said she doesn't see anybody in a squad that has a normal body. "It's kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it's not real," Lovato told Glamour Magazine.
Lovato's statements didn't just invite Swift's wrath, but her fans' as well. Earlier, Twitter was awash with disparaging tweets about Lovato.
In response, the Let it Go singer tweeted, "I get asked questions. I answer them. Sue me." Lovato's post soon turned into a rant and the 24-year-old singer reminded everyone that words can be taken out of context.
"...still not apologizing for saying what everyone want to say," she said in another tweet.
Lovato, who recently broke up with longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, also revealed that she's taking a break from music and the spotlight in 2017.
It's not yet known if she will make a comeback again as Lovato said "it's not worth it anymore" and followed it up with "I'd rather do charity work tbh."
