Tata Motors Zest and Bolt are reportedly gearing up to embark its journey in the domestic market from August, hints a new report.
Tata Bolt and Zest are the two much awaited launches in the country this year. The auto aficionados have waited long enough to hear the launch news of these vehicles. Now the latest rumour swirling around is that the Bolt hatchback and the Zest compact sedan might debut in the sub-continent market in August, according to CarWale. However, the report did not specify the exact launch date of the vehicles.
Although Tata is yet to make any announcement regarding the launch of Zest and Bolt, the company has exclusive websites for the upcoming sedan Zest and premium hatchback Bolt in place.
Tata Bolt
Bolt, the new hatchback offering from Tata was first seen at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 along with Zest. The car has made numerous appearances on the web since then through spy images and details. Tata Bolt will be offered in both petrol and engine options. While the petrol model of the Bolt will come with the 1.2 liter Revotron turbo petrol engine which can churn out a power of 84 bhp at 5000 rpm and a torque of 140 Nm of 1750-3500 rpm, the diesel version of the car will pack 1.3 liter Multijet diesel motor.
The car is expected to come with features like audio system that features MapMyIndia GPS, touchscreen and voice commands, center console, infotainment system, electric power steering in place of the Vista's hydraulic unit, projector headlamps and LED tail lamps.
Tata Zest
Like Bolt, Tata Zest has also grabbed many headlines since its first appearance at the Delhi Auto Expo. The car which has been spied testing in the country numerous times is India's first sedan with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technologies. Earlier reports had suggested that the company would commence the bookings of Zest in India in June and the car would make its official entry on 4 July.
The car Zest will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version of the Zest will be powered by a 1.2 litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged Revotron engine under the hood, which can churn out a power of 85 PS at 5000 RPM and a peak torque of 140 Nm 1750-3000 RPM.
The diesel model will come with a 1.3 litre Quadrajet motor, which can generate 90 PS power at 4000 RPM and 200Nm torque at 1750-3000 RPM. The car is expected to come with features like new front grille, projector headlamps, steering wheel and dash board. If reports are to be believed, then the car will be priced in the rage of ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh.
A recent report of ZigWheel said that Tata's upcoming Zest will be manufactured at the company's Ranjangaon facility alongside Tata Manzaa and Bolt will be produced at Tata's Pimpri-Chinchwad plant.
