It looks like the latest hatchback of Tata Motors, the Tiago, is off to a good start. The car made a huge buzz ahead of the launch in April for bearing the company's new impact design language. It has now registered an impressive number of sales in its first two months. Tata Motors sold 3,022 units of the Tiago in April, propelling it to the status of the best-selling car of the company in the month. In May, it sold 3,287 units, registering growth in sales, reports NDTV Auto.
The new hatchback currently has over 22,000 bookings, most of which are for petrol models. The dealers of Tata are not able to deliver the new Tiago as promised and the extended waiting period of the hatchback has started creating anxiety amongst buyers. Buoyed by the response, Tata Motors is planning to increase the production of the Tiago at its Sanand plant in Gujarat. The company recently rolled out 10,000th Tiago units from the plant.
