The highly-anticipated Tiago hatchback from the house of Tata Motors is poised to make its entry into the Indian market April 6. Ahead of its official launch in the country, the hatchback has started arriving at the dealerships for display.
GaadiWaadi has shared the pictures of the Tiago, which is on display at a dealership of the company. The bookings for the Tiago are open across all dealerships of the company with a down payment of Rs. 10,000. The hatchback can also be booked online.
The Tiago, which was renamed from Zica following the Zika virus outbreak in many countries, will come powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine. While the petrol mill will churn out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the diesel engine will produce 69bhp of power 4,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 1,800-3,000rpm. Both engines will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Expected to be priced between Rs. 3.9 lakh and Rs. 5.5 lakh, Tata Tiago will rival Hyundai i10, Maruti Celerio and other models in its segment. The hatchback is produced at its Sanand facility in Gujarat.
The hatchback will come packed with features like Harman infotainment system with eight speakers, steering-mounted audio controls for telephony and a cooled glove box.
On the safety front, the Tiago will come with an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution) and Corner Stability Control.
