Bengaluru: Tata Motors launched the Tiago on April 6 and the latest hatchback has received over one lakh enquiries so far. Nakul Gupta, regional manager South-1 (Passenger Vehicle Business Unit) of Tata Motors, told reporters on the sidelines of the Tiago launch in the city that the vehicle has been receiving overwhelming response. However, he refused to comment on the booking received for Tiago so far.
The Tiago has been priced at Rs. 3.32 lakh for the base petrol variant and its diesel version starts from Rs 4.08 lakh, ex-showroom, Bengaluru. The Tiago, Tata's first offering to be based on its Impact design language, currently also commands a waiting period of up to two months, depending on the city. In Bangalore, the waiting period for the Tiago is two months for the diesel variants and one month for the petrol car.
The new car of Tata Motors is available in petrol as well as diesel engines. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol mill churns out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm while the 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine produces 69bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 1,800-3,000rpm. Both the engines come teamed with a five-speed manual gearbox. Tata claims the Tiago delivers fuel efficiency of 23.84 kmpl for the petrol version and 27.28 kmpl for the diesel versions, respectively.
Available in five variants — XB, XE, XM, XT and XZ — the Tiago comes in six colour options — striker blue, berry red, sunburst orange, espresso brown, pearlescent white and platinum silver.
