In what appears to be good news on the launch of the Tiago-crossover -- the Tiago Aktiv -- a set of spy shots of the upcoming crossover has started doing the rounds on the internet. The Tiago-Aktiv is expected to hit the assembly line soon.
The team of ThrustZone has managed to capture probably the first set of images of the Aktiv being tested on the Indian roads. In the images, the test mule is seen covered completely, revealing nothing. However, the prototype could be in its final stages of testing as the launch is expected soon. The Tiago Aktiv is likely to be launched in India during the festive season this year.
It was earlier reported that the Tiago Aktiv will be produced only in limited numbers initially and will roll out more units after gauging the response. The Aktiv crossover from Tata is likely to become the most affordable offering in its segment when launched.
Under the hood, the Aktiv is likely to get the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol and 1.0-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel mills that do duty in the Tiago hatchback. While the petrol mill churns out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the 1.05- diesel engine produces 69bhp of power 4,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 1,800-3,000rpm. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The features expected include black plastic cladding on the tailgate, a skid plate at the rear, alloy wheels and cladding around the body.
