It is no secret that Tata Motors is readying a facelifted version of its Safari Strome, with the model being spotted on test numerous times.
Now a new report of Auto Portal, which claimed to have got the piece of information about the upcoming Safari Strome facelift, says the model will see the light of the day in the second week of the month, with 9 April as the probable launch date.
Safari Storme facelift has been in the headlines for quite a while now and was caught on camera numerous times. The previous spy shots have indicated that the facelifted avatar looks just the same as the current model with minor tweaks at the front.
Under the hood, the model is likely to pack 2.2-litre four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine with improved output of 160PS and 400Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The current Safari Storme model has the capacity to produce 138bhp of power.
Inside the cabin, the Safari Storme facelift is expected to get a touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls and automatic climate control.
The model will take on the likes of Mahindra Scorpio and Renault Duster in India and is likely to get a price tag in the range of ₹10-13 lakh.
In 2015, Tata will also be launching Kite hatchback and sedan models in India. Kite hatchback is expected to get power from the company's new 1.05 litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque, and the all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine.
