Amid rumours of delay in the launch of the Nexon from the house of Tata Motors, the compact SUV continues to make its appearances on the web through spy shots. The Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza's contender from Tata, seems to be undergoing rigorous tests in the country and a fresh batch of images of the Nexon has emerged online, this time caught on camera alongside rivals Ford EcoSport and the Vitara Brezza.
The images of Nexon was shared by Oncars.in and like the previous spy shots of the compact SUV, this time too the prototype of the Nexon is seen covered in heavy camouflage, thus not giving any clue about the key details of the model. Nevertheless, the auto enthusiasts in the country by now have most of the details of the Nexon. The Nexon was part of Tata's pavilion at the Auto Expo and it is expected to stay very much within the same styling in its production-guise.
Coming to the launch of the Nexon, while recent reports have said that there could be a delay in the launch of Tata's compact SUV as the company already has a slew of models in its line-up for this year, the publisher of the latest images indicates that the launch could happen soon. Although there is no official word on this yet, the repeated sighting of the model on the road could also be taken as an indication of its nearing launch.
Built on the heavily modified Tata X1 platform of the Indica, the Nexon SUV features the next generation Impact design philosophy of Tata. Under the hood, the compact SUV of Tata is likely to get a 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission in the model is likely to be taken care of by six-speed AMT box.
The front fascia of the Nexon flaunts the chrome Humanity Line on the upper grille featuring stylish projector headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs). At the rear, the Nexon is expected to get LED tail-lamps with chrome accents, arising beltline and a floating roof uplifts the rear of the car. The SUV rides on 16-inch alloy wheels. It is expected to get keyless entry, push start/top button, reverse-parking camera and a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
Tata Nexon is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
