Tata Motors is busy putting its Nexon compact SUV through rigorous tests in the country. The mode has been spied yet again while undergoing tests on the Indian road and this time showing the production-spec projector headlamp.
Caught on camera by RushLane, in the latest set of images too, the test mule of the Nexon was seen with considerable amount of camouflage, hiding the key details. The Nexon is expected to make its entry into the market in early 2017. Tata Nexon was part of Tata's pavilion at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. In 2016, Tata, which launched the Tiago hatchback, is expected to introduce the Kite 5 compact sedan and Hexa MPV.
From what we know so far, the Nexon is likely to be powered by 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission in the upcoming Tata compact SUV is likely to be taken care of by six-speed AMT box. To be pitted against Maruti Suzuki's new compact SUV Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport, the Nexon is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 to Rs. 10 lakh in India.
Tata Nexon features the next generation Impact design philosophy of Tata and is expected to come with features like keyless entry, push start/top button, reverse-parking camera and a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Other features expected include LED tail-lamps with chrome accents, 16-inch alloy wheels and projector headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs).
