A new set image of Tata's Nexon compact SUV has emerged online, this time giving us a closer look at the front profile of the model.
Cyberspace has been flooded with spy shots of Tata Nexon for the past couple of months, and to add to the long list, here comes yet another image of the model from MotorOctane. As usual, the test mule of the Nexon is covered with heavy camouflage, thus not giving away any key detail about its design. While the model is expected to make its debut at Auto Expo 2016 — India's biggest auto carnival in February — Tats is likely to launch it in India towards the end of 2016 or in early 2017.
Tata Nexon, also known as Osprey, will be based on the heavily modified Tata X1 platform, and is said to be built on the company's IMPACT design language. From the word around the Internet, Nexon is expected to include a 1.2-litre petrol Revotron engine and a 1.3-litre Multijet engine, which also do duty in Bolt and Zest. There have also been rumours about a new 1.5-litre petrol engine from the Revotron family, which is likely to develop a power of 100bhp.
To be pinned against Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300, Nexon is expected to stay true to its concept, which was showcased at Auto Expo 2014.
In India, Tata is expected to price the Nexon in the range of Rs 6-10 lakh. In 2016, Tata will also launch its Hexa crossover and Zica hatchback in India.
