If latest reports are anything to go by, the Nexon compact SUV from Tata Motors is likely to get six-speed AMT. While previous spy shots of the Nexon almost been confirmed that the model would get AMT in India, a report on MotorOctane now says it will be a six-speed AMT box.
Tata Nexon, the compact SUV that made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, has since been undergoing rigorous testing in the country. Although the company is yet to announce its launch date, rumours are rife that the model would be the out in the market only in 2017.
Tata had showcased the Nexon at the auto show along with the company's other future product range, including the newly-launched Tiago, the Kite 5 compact sedan and the Hexa. Recent reports suggest while the Hexa would be the first to be out among the three, the Nexon would be the last.
The Nexon, which will rival Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford's EcoSport, is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs.10 lakh. Under the hood, the Nexon is expected to include a 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
As for features, the Nexon is expected to pack keyless entry, push start/top button, reverse-parking camera and a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
