It appears like Tata Motors is looking to launch its much-awaited Nexon compact SUV in India next year. The compact SUV, which will rival Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in India, is currently believed to be in its testing phase.
The emerging reports suggest that the launch of the Nexon is likely to place only in 2017 as the company has slew of other models lined-up for this year. Tata is expected to launch the Kite 5 compact sedan and the Hexa MPV during the festive seaon this year. Apart form the new offering, Tata lso has plans to launch the new variants of Tiago-- the AMT avatar and the crossover, which is likely to be called Tiago Aktiv.
Tata Nexon, which was showcased at the Auto expo 2016 in February, features the next generation Impact design philosophy. It was caught on camera quite a few times and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 to Rs. 10 lakh in India.
The compact SUV of Tata is likely to be powered by 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission in the upcoming Tata compact SUV is likely to be taken care of by six-speed AMT box.
It is expected to come with features like keyless entry, push start/top button, reverse-parking camera and a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Other features expected include LED tail-lamps with chrome accents, 16-inch alloy wheels and projector headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRLs).
