It is probably the worst-kept secret that Tata Motors is readying new versions of Nano to revive its market in the country. And now the latest news that is coming our way is that the next Nano dubbed GenX will feature AMT along with creep function.
A report of Gaadi reveals that Tata NanoGenX AMT will come with creep function which will help the vehicle to move at a snail pace once the driver release the brake pedal when at traffic signals or while parking. Although all automatic transmission cars usually get the creep function, in India AMT models like Alto, Celerio and Zest do not feature the same. Creep function will help the vehicle to move further slowly even without the driver pressing the throttle.
Nano nextGenX that is believed to be under production at the company's Sanand plant in Gujarat is also expected to get features like smoked headlamps, redesigned bumpers with honeycomb grilles, openable rear hatch, new interior, redesigned alloy wheels and new fog lights.
Inside the cabin, new-gen Nano is speculated to get upgraded features like three-spoke steering wheel, new upholstery and dashboard. Under the hood, new Nano is expected to get new twin-cylinder petrol engine that can generate 38PS power and 51Nm peak torque.
The model is likely to make its market launch in India soon and when launched, Nano GenX is likely to be the least expensive AMT model.
