Tata Motors recorded an increase of 14% in its global sales, including Jaguar Land Rover at 92,949 units for the month of October.
The sales of passenger vehicles in October 2015 stood at 61,629 units as against 49,977 units in October 2014, posting a growth of 24%. The Cumulative passenger vehicles sales for this fiscal were at 3,59,906 units.
The commercial vehicles of Tata Motors witnessed a plunge in sales at 31,320 from 32,049 last year, registering a 2.27% decline.
The sales of Jaguar Land Rover were at 48,468 units in October. While the Jaguar sales for the month were 9,171 units, the Land Rover sales stood at 39,297. The cumulative sales of Jaguar was 52,060 units, where as the Land Rover were at 2, 27,605 units. Cumulative wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal were 2,79,665 vehicles.
Coming to India, in October, Tata Motors reported a growth of 1% at 43,486 units as against 42,862 vehicles sold in October 2014. In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors witnessed 11% year-on-year growth at 12,798 units in the month of October, compared to 11,511 units. In the same month, the company recorded 20% increase in the medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV).
