Just a few days now stand between the Indian auto lovers and Tata Motors hatchback Bolt, but speculations are still rife about the price tag of the upcoming car. Here comes an interesting piece of tidbit for the auto lovers in the country.
A report of Economic Times says that, Tata that is looking to expand its foothold in the market with the launch of Bolt is likely to price it between ₹4.25 lakh and ₹6.5 lakh. First showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 alongside Tata Zest, Bolt has been in the news since then. The car was caught on camera numerous times and will make its debut in the country on 22 January.
In terms of dimensions, Bolt measures 3,825mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,562mm in height. Bolt, the second offering from Tata Motors' Horizonnext umbrella will include features like MapmyIndia GPS navigation, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control.
Under the hood, Bolt will pack both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant of the car will come with 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-charged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp at 5,000rpm and a torque of 140Nm of 1,750-3,500rpm.
The diesel model will be powered by 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73bhp and peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Like the Zest, the Bolt will also offer Eco, City and Sport driving modes.
When launched, Bolt will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i10, i20, Honda Jazz and Chevrolet Beat in India. The company has stared accepting the booking for Bolt in the country with an advance payment of ₹11,000.
