We have seen plenty of spy shots of Tata Motors' upcoming hatchback Kite recently and here comes a new spy shot of the car yet again, this time, showing the interiors of the new hatchback.
Thanks to the folks at IndianAutos Blog for the latest picture. Judging from the latest image, it looks like Tata Kite is going to have a similar interior found on company's upcoming hatchback Bolt. However, the feel and quality of the interior will be different from Bolt. The image also shows three-spoke steering wheel and the AC vents.
Based on Indica platform, Kite is expected to reach Indian market in 2015. Under the hood, the new Tata model is likely to pack company's new 1.05-litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out a power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque and all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine. The transmission is likely to be taken care by five speed manual gearboxes and we also hear that the Kite could also get automated manual transmission (AMT).
When launched, Tata Kite will be pitched against Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10 in India and going by the rumours, Tata is likely to price its new offering in the ₹4 lakh brackets. For the manufacturing of Kite, Tata Motors is likely to utilise the company's Sanand facility in Gujarat, which is almost vacant after the sales slowdown of Tata Nano.
In 2015, Tata Bolt will become one of the cars to hit the market first. Expected to be launched on 20 January, Bolt is open for bookings in the country with a down payment of ₹11,000.
