The upcoming Tata Kite sedan has been snapped while undergoing testing again, this time at the Kari Motor Speedway in Tamil Nadu.
Caught on camera by MotorBeam reader Denzil Anthony, Tata Kite sedan, the possible replacement of the company's Indigo CS, is seen hiding under as much camouflage as earlier. Though the camouflage makes it hard to tell the style and design of the sedan, it appears to have a design similar to the company's recently launched Zest. The sedan, which is expected to sit below the Zest, is likely to have a wider intake.
As for the engines, the petrol model of the Tata Kite sedan is expected to get power from the 1.2l Revotron engine and the diesel is likely to be powered by 1.05 liter-3 cylinder turbo diesel. Expected to be priced lower than Tata Zest in the Indian market, Kite is said to reach showrooms by the end of 2015.
Tata is also readying a hatchback that goes by the same name (Kite). Tata Kite hatchback was caught on camera many times and is likely to see the light of the day by mid-2015.
Based on new Indica platform, Tata Kite is likely to be powered by the company's new 1.05-litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out a power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque and all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine.
The transmission is likely to be taken care by five speed manual gearboxes and we also hear that there could be an automated manual transmission (AMT).
Meanwhile, the company's small car Bolt is all set to enthral Indian fans on 22 January.
