The auto enthusiasts in the country have already heard a lot about Tata's upcoming hatchback Kite and its launch. But what is actually left to see is the price tag of the model. The latest online buzz is that Kite, the model which is inching closer to its launch in the country, could get a price tag at Rs 3.6 lakh.
Kite, the replacement of Tata's ageing Indica, is expected to make its entry into the market in December this year. A report of Auto Car India says that Tata's new Kite is likely to get a price tag starting at Rs 3.6 lakh. Underpinning Indica's X0 platform will rival Maruti Celerio and the Hyundai Grand i10 in India.
Caught on camera numerous times, Tata Kite is likely to include a new 1.05-litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor that can churn out a power of 64.1bhp and 140Nm of torque and an all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine. The Kite is speculated to get e-clutch system similar to AMT that allows drivers to use manual transmission for the first gear without using the clutch.
Tata will also launch its Kite compact sedan in India after the launch of hatchback.
