Tata Motors' new hatchback Kite is expected to reach Indian showrooms sometime later this year. The model, which is being rigorously tested in the country, has been caught on camera once again, this time revealing its interiors.
Kite has been caught on camera dozens of times, but the latest spy shots from motor enthusiasts at Team BHP look interesting. From the images, the interior of Tata Kite shows a black dashboard and rectangular AC vents.
Tata Kite, which is supposedly monikered Glade, is expected to get infotainment system of Kite (a Harman-Kardon unit) and three-spoke steering wheels.
Under the hood, Tata Kite, the hatchback based on Indica's platform, is expected to pack the company's new 1.05-litre three-cylinder common-rail diesel motor, which can churn out power of 64.1bhp and 14.27kgm of torque, and the all-new 1.2-litre petrol engine.
The model is rumoured to get e-clutch system similar to AMT, which allows drivers to use manual transmission for the first gear without using the clutch. There have also been rumours of an AMT variant of Kite.
Expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh, Tata Kite will be competing against the likes of Maruti Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10. From what we know so far, Tat Kite will go on sale in the second half of this year.
