A new prototype of Tata's upcoming compact sedan Kite 5 has been spied while undergoing testing in Coimbatore, adding to the long-list of the model's spy shots before its arrival in the market. Tata Kite 5, which is rumoured to be monikered as Sway in India, is expected to be launched in the country early next year.
The latest image of the Kite 5 comes from IndianAutsoBlog and like before, the test mule is seen hiding under camouflage, thus not revealing anything new. For auto enthusiasts in the country, the Kite 5 has become a common sight as the company is putting it through testing in different parts of the country. The Kite 5 was showcased in its nearly production-ready version at the Auto Expo 2016.
As we have known for some time, the Kite 5, the Tiago-based compact sedan will rival Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Figo Aspire.
Under the hood, the Kite 5 will get a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and 1.05-litre three-cylinder diesel motors. While the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will churn out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine will develop 69bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. Both engines will be available with multi-drive modes — Eco and City.
In terms of dimension, the compact sedan measures 3,995mm in length, 1,647mm in width and 1,535mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. To be manufactured at Tata's Sanand plant, the Kite 5 is expected to feature 5-inch Harman touchscreen system, automatic climate control and many more.
