Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of its flagship vehicle, Hexa, which is expected next month. Ahead of the launch, the demo units of the SUV have started arriving at dealerships. The demo units will be used for display and pre-launch promotions.
Tata Hexa in blue colour has been spotted at a dealership in Gujarat. The images of the model have appeared on TATA Hexa Un-Limited Klub (HULK), an unofficial Facebook group. The company has already started bookings for the new SUV for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Hexa booking seems to have received a head start with 250 booking within first two days.
Hexa is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh, ex-showroom and at that price point, Hexa will be a serious threat to the likes of Mahindra XUV 500 and Toyota Innova Crysta. Hexa is the second product to feature the Impact design language of Tata Motors. What this means is that the vehicle sports sharp and contemporary looks. The crossover SUV comes with a honeycomb grille with chrome Humanity Line.
Tata Hexa will feature an array of safety features like airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution and hill control. It will also flaunt Harman Kardon infotainment system as standard across all the variants.
Hexa will draw power from a 2.2-litre Varicor engine. While the 2.2–litre Varicor 320 engine will generate 148bhp and 320Nm of torque in the base variants of Hexa, the same engine in remaining variants will develop 154bhp and 400Nm of torque. While a five speed manual gearbox is offered in the base variant of Hexa, the six speed manual and automatic gearbox will be offered in the rest of variants. One of the highlights of Hexa is the four drive modes — Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
