A fresh batch of spy shots of Tata Motors' Hexa has hit the web ahead of its imminent launch in India. Tata Hexa, a copiously tweaked variant of the Aria, is rumoured to make its market entry in the country in June this year. Tata has been putting the Hexa through rigorous testing for quite some time and the model has also made its appearance at the Auto Expo 2016 in February.
Although auto enthusiasts already have a clear idea about what to expect from the model, the company is still testing the model with significant amount of camouflage. The latest set of images was snapped in Pune by Motoroids, while the test mule was undergoing testing, also shows the Hexa in its disguised look.
Expected to be priced between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh, Tata Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Powering the MPV is a 2.2 litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The engine comes mated to either with 6-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission.
On the safety front, the Hexa features six airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD). Tim Leverton, head of Advanced and Product Engineering at Tata Motors, had earlier told International Business, India, "the Hexa comes with more space in the third row. We have moved the third row seat back to free up more legroom to make it a competitive offering."
Tata Hexa is expected to include features such as 5-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment system from Harman, compatible with USB, iPod, SD card, Aux and Bluetooth audio.
