Tata Motors continues testing its Hexa MPV on the Indian roads and a new prototype of the model has been snapped while performing a test near Pune. Tata Hexa has been rumoured to make its market entry in June this year.
Caught on camera by Indian Autos blog, in the latest spy shots as well, the Hexa was seen hiding under a camouflage. However, most of the details of the MPV have already been out as the model made numerous appearances on the auto shows, with the latest one being at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Under the hood, the MPV is packed with 2.2 litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm mated to either with 6-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission.
The Hexa will house features like 5-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment system from Harman, compatible with USB, iPod, SD card, Aux and Bluetooth audio. On the safety front, the MPV will come with six airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD).
From a visual stand point, Tata Hexa features dual hexagonal patterned front grille with chrome accents on the front. The MPV also flaunts smoked projector headlamps, fog lamps and daytime running lamps. The Hexa comes with wraparound LED tail lamps, door claddings, dual-coloured wheel arches, integrated spoiler and roof rails.
