A lot has already been talked about upcoming MPV Hexa from the house of Tata Motors and what may have been glossed over is its pricing. Though Hexa is still far from its launch in India, rumour mills are busy spinning with stories about the offering.
Now, the latest interesting titbit comes from CarTorq and intriguingly, it gives a glimpse at the variants and the pricing of the upcoming Hexa. According to the report, Hexa will get a price tag lower than Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta in India.
While the top-end variant, Hexa XT will see a price tag of Rs 17.49 lakh, the automatic variant - Hexa XTA 4×2 AT will be priced at Rs 17.44 lakh (all process ex-showroom Pune). On the other hand, Mahindra XUV500 W10 AWD MT is priced at Rs 17.5 lakh and XUV500 W10 AWD AT goes for Rs 18.53 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
Interestingly, the price difference between Mahindra XUV500 and Hexa is minimal and when compared to Toyota Innova Crysta, the difference is significant. Hexa is expected to be open for bookings from November and will be launched in the country in January 2017.
Under the hood, Hexa will get a 2.2-litre engine tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The transmission in Hexa will be taken care of by either a six-speed manual or six-speed gearbox. The MPV will feature four drive modes -- Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
In terms of dimension, Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm and is expected house a five-inch touchscreen that comes paired to a JBL's 10-speaker audio system, dual-tone dashboard and LED illumination.
