The launch date of the much-awaited Hexa SUV has now almost been confirmed as emerging reports suggest that the Tata SUV will make its entry into the market on January 16. The Hexa will be open for bookings starting from November 1 and will take on the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner in India.
Tata has already put up a microsite for the upcoming SUV, which is currently accepting the registration. Expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 18 lakh, Tata Hexa will come powered by a 2.2-litre engine that is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The Hexa will be offered with four drive modes — Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
It measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The Hexa is rumoured to come in a total of nine trims — five manual (XE 4x2, XM 4x2, XM 4x4, XT 4x2, XT 4x4) and four automatic variants (XMA 4x2, XMA 4x4, XTA 4x2, XTA 4x4) and will house features such as a five-inch touchscreen that comes paired to a JBL's 10-speaker audio system, dual-tone dashboard and LED illumination.
Embodying the Impact design language of Tata Motors, the Hexa will flaunt projector head-lamps, LED daytime running lights, and integrated spoiler and roof rails. On the safety front, the Hexa SUV is expected to offer ABS as standard and will also include features such as EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control), ROM (Roll-Over Mitigation, with ESP), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistance), HHC/HDC (Hill Hold Control/Hill Descent Control) and TCS (Traction Control System).
