Tata Motors's highly anticipated the Hexa has hit the assembly lines at the company's facility in Pune ahead of its expected launch in January 2017. The Hexa, which made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, is expected to enter the territory of Toyota Innova Crysta, Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner in India.
A new image of the Hexa, which is believed to have been taken at the production plant, has surfaced on the TeamBHp forum, showing the MPV in its production guise. Emerging reports on the web suggest that the Hexa will be open for bookings in the country from November and is expected to be priced at Rs 17.49 lakh for the top-end variant, Hexa XT.
The Hexa has made numerous appearances on the web through spy shots and leaked reports since its appearance at the auto show earlier this year. From what we know so far, the Hexa will come powered with a 2.2-litre engine tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The transmission in Hexa will be taken care of by either a six-speed manual or six-speed gearbox. The Hexa will offer four driving modes — Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
In terms of dimension, Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. As for features, Hexa is expected to house a five-inch touchscreen that comes paired to a JBL's 10-speaker audio system, dual-tone dashboard and LED illumination.
