Tata Motors is all set to start bookings for its new flagship, Hexa, from November 1. The launch of the SUV is expected in January 2017. Currently, the possible pricing is one of the major talks in the industry. Emerging reports indicate that Hexa's prices may start from Rs 15 lakh.
The SUV is loaded with features like a four-wheel drive system, drive modes, premium and tech savvy cabin. All this makes it clear that Hexa is a premium product and pricing can be expected in the range Rs 15 lakh to 19 lakh, reports Oncars.
At that price point, Hexa will be a compelling case against Toyota Innova Crysta.
Leaked information claims that the Hexa SUV will be offered in a total of nine trims — five manual (XE 4x2, XM 4x2, XM 4x4, XT 4x2, XT 4x4) and four automatic variants (XMA 4x2, XMA 4x4, XTA 4x2, XTA 4x4).
Powering Hexa will be a 2.2-litre engine that is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. While the transmission in XE, Hexa's entry-level variant, will be taken care of by a five-speed manual gearbox, all other variants will get either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
One of the highlights of Hexa is the four drive modes — Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
Hexa is the second product to feature the Impact design language of Tata Motors. What this means is that the vehicle sports a sharp and contemporary looks. The SUV crossover comes with a honeycomb grille with chrome 'Humanity Line'.
The Hexa sports projector head-lamps, LED daytime running lights, integrated spoiler and roof rails. The interior will sport dual-tone dashboard and leather-covered captain seats. Other premium additions, such as the LED illumination and mood lighting will be reserved for top-spec model.
