With the launch of Tata Hexa nearing, many reports are doing the rounds stating possible price range for the flagship SUV. One set of reports states the prices of the SUV will start from Rs 10.99 lakh, while some other reports say it will be a premium offering with prices starting at Rs 15 lakh. Reliable sources have informed International Business Times, India that the starting price of Hexa will be between Rs 12 and Rs 14 lakh.
At that price point, the Hexa will go up against popular MPV Toyota Innova Crysta. It will also compete against the XUV500's SUV segment. Sources also tell that being the flagship SUV, the Hexa will flaunt many new segment leading features.
The Hexa will be the second vehicle from Tata's stable featuring new Impact design language. It will come with projector head-lamps, LED daytime running lights, integrated spoiler and roof rails. Adding to the style could also be the dual-coloured wheel arches and dual hexagonal-patterned front grille along with the black cladding.
The interior will be spruced up with dual-tone dashboard and leather-covered captain seats. The highlight will be a high-end Harman Kardon Infotainment system with 5.0 inch touchscreen display. It measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.
The Hexa will draw power from a 2.2-litre engine that is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The engine will be mated to six-speed manual transmission while AMT option is also expected. Hexa will also feature four driving modes — Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
