Tata Motors is set to launch its hatchback Bolt in India today (22 January). Auto enthusiasts in the country have already heard enough about this new small car and have a clear picture of what to expect on the arrival of the model.
While Tata will break the cover of its new offering in a few hours, spy shots of Bolt with sporty body have emerged.
Spotted at a Tata showroom in Mangalore by BharathAutos, Tata Bolt is seen with similar body kit and sporty interiors that the company showed at Delhi Auto Expo. Speaking of the kitted–up Bolt, there seems to be front and rear bumper extensions along with side skirts. There is also a dual toned (red and black) seat upholstery and new set of alloy wheels.
For the uninitiated, Tata Bolt, the second offering from Tata Motors' Horizonnext umbrella, is based on Vista's X1 platform and measures 3,825mm in length, 1,695mm in width and 1,562mm in height.
Under the hood, Bolt gets 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-charged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp at 5,000rpm and a torque of 140Nm of 1,750-3,500rpm. The diesel 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73bhp and peak torque of 190Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
As for the features, Bolt is expected to get MapmyIndia GPS navigation, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control.
