Tata Motors showcased the Bolt Sport hatchback at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2016. The Bolt Sport is the first product from the partnership between Tata Motors and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives that is expected to develop many performance and special Tata products.
The Bolt Sport is reportedly nearing launch, reports MotorOctane. The Bolt hatchback launched in January last year couldn't make a significant impact in the sales of Tata Motors. The latest avatar is expected to give a much needed lease of life to the hatchback.
The Bolt Sport comes with a sporty front grille with air dam, new front and rear bumpers with air vents on the fender, a high-flow exhaust system and a body kit with 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is also spruced up with a sporty theme. It comes with sporty pedal inserts with body-coloured touches. The black leather seats with red detail and contrast stitching, wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob with stitch details further adds sporty appeal.
The Bolt Sport is powered by Revotron 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 108.4bhp at 5,300-5,500rpm and 170Nm of torque at 3,000-3,800rpm mated to five-speed manual transmission. The engine delivers a 0-100 kmph time of 12 seconds. With a wheelbase of 2,470mm, the car is equipped with performance suspension using retuned springs and dampers.
