A prototype of Tata Motors upcoming Bolt hatchback has been spied testing in the country again, this time showing the dashboard of the car.
We already know that Tata is working on its new hatchback Bolt and the car is expected to see the light of the day sometimes in 2015. Bolt, which made its first appearance at the Delhi Auto Expo was caught on camera numerous times and the Indian auto lovers have a clear picture of what to expect on the arrival of this new car.
The latest set of images of Bolt comes from Indian Autos Blog reader, G Ashoka Prathap, who snapped the prototype in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The Bolt here is still seen wearing a significant amount of camouflage, however, if you take a closer look at the picture, you can see the dashboard of the car donned in a shade of orange colour.
Meanwhile, Tata Bolt will come in petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol variant of the car will pack 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged engine, which is tuned to generate 84 bhp at 5,000 rpm and a torque of 140 Nm of 1,750-3,500 rpm, the diesel Bolt will get 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73 bhp and peak torque of 190 Nm. Both the engines will come coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.
As far as the features are concerned, the car is likely to include an audio system with MapMyIndia GPS, touchscreen and voice commands, center console, infotainment system, electric power steering, projector headlamps and LED tail lamps.
The hatchback will offer three driving modes – City, Eco and Sport and the switchable driving modes will be featured in its petrol variant.
Once it hits the market, Tata Bolt will be pegged against Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i10, i20, Honda Jazz, Chevrolet Beat and Volkswagen Polo and it is likely to get a price tag of ₹7 lakh.
