The much-awaited Tata Motor's Bolt has been caught on camera once again ahead of its possible launch in early 2015.
The latest spy shots come from Motorbeam reader Rishath who snapped the car in Chennai while on test. In the latest images, Tata Bolt, which has been in testing phase for a while, is seen dressed in heavy camouflage.
Bolt, the small car from Tata, which made its first appearance at Delhi Auto Expo 2014, was expected to make its official entry into the Indian market after the launch of Zest. Although Zest is official in the market now, Tata is yet to confirm the launch details of Bolt in India. However, there have been rumours that the company will present its small car Bolt to Indian fans in January 2015.
To be offered in petrol and diesel engine options in the country, Tata's upcoming Bolt rides on the Indica Vista platform.
The car has already made numerous appearances on the cyber space through spy shots and leaked reports and from what we have seen so far, Tata Bolt shares similarities with Tata Zest.
Under the hood, the petrol variant of the car will pack 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp at 5,000rpm and a torque of 140Nm of 1,750-3,500rpm. And the diesel model gets 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor that can generate 73bhp and peak torque of 190Nm.
The transmission of both the engines is taken care by a five-speed manual transmission.
When launched, Tata Bolt will be pinned to rival Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i10, i20, Honda Jazz, Chevrolet Beat and the car is likely to get a price tag of ₹6.5 lakh.
As for the features, expect Tat Bolt to get audio system with MapMyIndia GPS, touchscreen and voice commands, centre console, infotainment system, electric power steering, projector headlamps and LED tail lamps.
