Kangana Ranaut-R Madhavan starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" made a fabulous start as its opening weekend box-office collection has broke several records.
The film, as per reports, has minted ₹38.10 crore in three days, placing it second after "Gabbar Is Back" to have maximum collection in the first weekend. The Akshay Kumar starrer collected ₹39.41 crore in Indian business on its opening weekend.
Meanwhile, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" box-office collection has broke records of the latest Deepika Padukone-Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Piku" as well as Akshay Kumar's "Baby". "Piku" had collected ₹25.22 crore and "Baby" made ₹36.07 crore from their three-day opening weekends.
"Tanu Weds Manu Returns" opening weekend box-office collection figures, according to industry analyst Taran Adarsh, are as follows: On Friday (release date), the film had minted ₹8.85 crore, on Saturday ₹13.20 crore and the most impressive numbers came on Sunday with ₹16.10 crore.
It is important to note that on Sunday, the collection of the film almost doubled from the opening the day, despite IPL finale on Sunday.

With this, director Anand L Rai has ensured a hat-trick hit at the box office after "Tanu Weds Manu" and "Raanjhanaa".
