The much-awaited Kangana Ranaut-Madhavan movie is set for its big release on 22 May 2015. The movie directed by Anand L Rai is expected to break all records and the industry has already seen the signs of it with the responses the film has garnered in the special screenings.
Though the film is not attached with any superstar image, the trade analyst expects the buzz around the film to be carried on during the film's release and thereby ensuring a good opening.
Trade analysts pose several reasons for the immense expectations over this upcoming film. The most important reason for this is that the film is touted to be content-driven. The recent success of Amithabh Bachchan-Deepika Padukone starrer "Piku" is the best example for content-driven movies making it big at the box office.
Secondly, the success of the first part, "Tanu Weds Manu", is expected to carry on for the sequel as well. The first part not only garnered great positive response, but also had a decent opening at the box office. It is the word-of-mouth after the release of the film that has helped it to grab the top spot.
When it comes to the sequel, the word-of-mouth seems to have already worked for the film as social media has gone frenzy about the film's release.
"#TanuWedsManuReturns is one up on its first part. Do yourself a favour: Watch this film. SURE-SHOT HIT!" tweeted industry analyst Taran Adarsh and this itself reflects the kind of business that is awaiting the movie.
Besides Kangana and Madhavan, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" has an impressive star cast of Jimmy Shergill, Deepak Dobriyal, Eijaz Khan, Swara Bhaskar, Mohanmmed Zeeshan Ayyub, Rajendra Gupta, Navni Parivar and KK Raina in notable roles.
