Director Ram Mohan's "Tanu Nenu" (also spelled as Thanu Nenu) starring Santhosh Shobhan and Avika Gor in the leads, has garnered mixed reviews from critics and audiences.

"Tanu Nenu" is a romance comedy entertainer, written and produced by Ram Mohan. The movie revolves around the story of a guy named Kiran (Santhosh Shoban), who hates NRI culture. He falls in love with Keerthi (Avika Gor), who wants to go to the US and earn money for her dad. Her father (Ravi Babu) tries to get her married to an NRI. What happens next  forms the crux of the story.

The audiences say that "Tanu Nenu" has an interesting story, but the director has failed to execute it on the screen. Late director Shobhan's son Santhosh Shobhan, who makes his acting debut with the film, is successful in impressing viewers. "Uyyala Jampala" fame actress Avika Gor also does justice to her role.

"Tanu Nenu" has decent production values. MR Sunny's music, well-written dialogues, brilliant picturisation and art work are the big attractions on the technical front, say critics and viewers. Here, we bring you their verdict on the movie.

The trailer of Thanu Nenu was pretty promising and songs were alright, but the film as a whole just doesn't live upto its hype. Director/Producer Ram Mohan intentions to provide a feel good romantic entertainer fails as he let down by a poor screenplay. Overall, Thanu Nenu is a romantic entertainer with hardly any romance or barely any comedy. Its disappointing start for Ram Mohan as a director in the Telugu film industry. The movie can be avoided.

Tanu Nenu is a quirky love story which will appeal to the youth and multiplex audience mostly. The simple and clean content of the film and impressive performances by the lead pair are some assets. Having said that, the film is let down a bit because of a mediocre second half and ends up just an ok watch this weekend.

Thanu Nenu makes an entertaining watch, which you can enjoy with your complete family. It deals with some of the simplest issues that are disturbing our lives but the movie doesn't get preachy at any point. The film only concentrated on telling an intriguing story without missing on the fun elements and we can say they were successful enough.
