A magistrate court in Chennai has ordered the arrest of Tamil TV actress Anisha (Poornima) and her brother-in-law Hari Kumar in connection with a cheating case. The hunt for her husband -- Sakthi Murugan -- is on as he is the prime accused in the case.
Anisha and her husband run a home appliance agency. Based on the complaint filed by a wholesale air-conditioner dealer, KK Nagar police had recently arrested Anisha and Hari Kumar. As per the complainant, Prashanth, they, in the name of their company Sky Equipment, had approached him claiming that they required 103 air-conditioners for their hotel.
Their outwards appearance deceived the store manager as he delivered the products against a cheque of Rs 37 lakh in April. But the bank dishonoured his cheque due to insufficient funds in the account.
To Prashanth's shock, he found out that the delivered products were being sold online following which he filed a case against them.
During interrogation, the police found out that Anisha's husband ran another firm which leased luxurious cars. "He conned many people into leasing their cars to his firm," The Times of India quoted a police officer as saying.
Once they get the cars from the owners, they forged the documents to pledge the cars with banks to take loans.
A case has been filed with MGR police station and Murugan's aide Ramesh has been arrested.
