The security guard at the Kodanad Tea Estate of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was found hacked to death in the early hours of Monday. This news comes amid increasing demand for a probe into the death of the former chief minister.
Om Bahadur, 41, was found murdered, while another man named Krishna Bahadur suffered serious injuries in the attack, the Hindu reported. The incident took place at gate number 10 of the Kodanad Tea Estate in the Nilgiris. The gates were being manned by the two guards.
In his statement, Krishna told police that a group of 10 men forcefully entered the premises of the estate and assaulted them, DNA reported. Five police teams have been formed to investigate the murder of the security guard, ANI reported.
A case under murder and attempt to murder under Indian Penal Code has been filed. The investigating officers say that they are trying to identify the attackers with the help of CCTV footage.
