Actress Tamannaah Bhatia walked away with the best actress Asiavision Awards 2016 for her performance in Vijay Sethupathi's hit Tamil movie Dharma Durai at a grand event held at Sharjah.
The organiser of 11th Asiavision Awards announced winners list at the grand ceremony in Sharja Cricket stadium in the United Arab Emirates on November 18. Tamannaah Bhatia flaunted Monique Lhuillier styled by Sanjana Batra. She posted a photo of her costume on her Instagram page and wrote: "At the #asiavisionawards2016 in Dubai Wearing @moniquelhuillier Styled by @sanjanabatra."
After receiving the best actress award, Tamannaah Bhatia shared her excitement and posted a photo featuring her with the award. She wrote: "Was a memorable night thank u #asiavisionawards2016 #bestactress #tamil #dharmadurai #subhashini." She added: "What a wonderful feeling that is!! #asiavisionawards2016 #bestactress."
Tamannaah Bhatia has played a doctor in Dharma Durai, which has garnered both critical and commercial success. "It's is a very special film because it got critical acclaim and the box office numbers and that's a rare combination. There was a soul to this film and it's such a beautiful slice-of-life drama. It was progressive and I loved the way the rural India was shown in this film," Tamannaah told Gulf News.
The actress walked the red carpet of Asiavision Awards 2016 along with Sonam Kapoor, Radhika Apte and Manju Warrier. "We come together as one during such events. We may work in different language films, but we represent Indian films on a global stage and it's always a healthy sign when actors from South India and Hindi cinema converge," she said, talking about award ceremony.
