Karan Johar has several big stars in his next film Takht!  The filmmaker gave a surprise to fans early morning by announcing his new film Takht and its storyline and amazing star cast.  Takht has Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar.

Karan Johar revealed the storyline of Takht on Twitter, saying, "An incredible story embedded in history... An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne... A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession... TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE...."

Karan Johar announced the cast of Takht on Twitter with the words, "I am so excited and honoured to announce the lead cast of #TAKHT @RanveerOfficial #KareenaKapoorKhan @aliaa08 @vickykaushal09 @psbhumi #JanhviKapoor @AnilKapoor #HirooYashJohar @apoorvamehta18 @sumit_roy_ @hussainhaidry".

KJo gave further details on Twitter about Takht, saying, "The Screenplay is by SUMIT ROY! Dialogues by HUSSAIN HAIDRY,SUMIT ROY! And thanks to @NotSoSnob for bringing these talents to us at @DharmaMovies ! An exciting journey ahead....WRITERS are the heartbeat and soul of a film! These gentlemen lead all the way...."

Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Janhvi Kapoor are big draws at the box office right now and have also proven themselves to be amazing actors. While Kareena Kapoor is Karan Johar's bestie, Janhvi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are his protegees. Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar are new to the camp, and adding a 'tadka' is veteran Anil Kapoor.

As for Anil Kapoor, for an actor of his stature, we don't think it matters that his recent release Fanney Khan did not do well at the box office. What matters is that his performance was appreciated in both Fanney Khan and Race 3

Seems like Takht will be one great epic of a film!
