Top-seeded Shekar Veeraswamy of Karnataka and second-seeded Balachandar Subramanian of Tamil Nadu eased into the pre-quarterfinals of the Tabebuia Open 2017 AITA Tennis Tour second ranking tournament of the Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour at KSLTA in Bengaluru on Thursday.
Earlier in the morning, Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna inaugurated the tournament before
volleying some balls with top-seeds Shekar and Balachandar.
''I am really honoured to be here. These players are the ones who make the tournament happen. I hope we have wheelchair tennis player representing India soon. With all help and support, I am sure they be successful,' said Rohan.
Along with Astha founder Sunil Jain, Bopanna earlier lighted the lamp.
