Disha Vakani, who plays Dayaben in the comedy show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is said to be expecting her first child.
Disha has not been shooting for the show for some time now, and is on a break due to her pregnancy, according to Times of India. Her sudden absence from the show had sparked off rumours that she is quitting the show but a source confirmed to the daily that the actress is very much a part of the comedy series and is only on a short break.
Disha got married to Mumbai-based chartered accountant Mayur Pandya in November 2015. While the wedding was a private affair attended by the actress' close friends and relatives, a grand reception was later held in the city, which was attended by the entire cast of the TV series.
Though the actress rose to popularity with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, she had earlier played small roles in several hit films like Jodha Akbar, Devdas, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Love Story 2050.
For almost a decade, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, produced by Neela Telefilms, has been ruling the hearts of millions of viewers, and the lead actors, Dilip Joshi (Jethalal) and Disha, have turned out to be one of the most loved on-screen couples. The family entertainer recently entered the Limca Book of Records as the longest running comedy fiction show.
