Syria: Video Said to Show US Special Forces Retreat From Front Line of Operation Euphrates Shield
Aleppo-based activist reports indicate as many as 25 US Special Forces members, serving in an advisory role to the Turkish-led Operation Euphrates Shield, crossed into Syrian territory to support Syrian rebel operations in and around the border town of al-Rai on 16 September. Since a brief verbal altercation in al-Rai with Jaish al-Fateh rebels, US Special forces have, according to the footage, relocated nearby to the Tal Ahmar village.
