A group of eight men allegedly gang-raped a 39-year-old Swiss national who was camping with her husband in Datia, Madhya Pradesh.
The couple, supposed to be in India tour, was exploring the area on a Bicycle as a part of the tour. They were camping near the site of Lord Ram temples when a gang of eight people robbed them and raped the woman in her husband's presence. Miscreants thrashed the woman's husband with wooden sticks.
The woman was admitted to Gwalior's Kamalaraje Hospital and tested positive for rape, said police officials.
"We are scouring the forest area in search of those involved in the crime," said SP CS Solanki.
The husband and wife were heading for Agra, when the unfortunate incident took place.
Only last month, another foreign national was sexually assaulted by an Indian youth in South Delhi. The 23-year-old trainee executive at a Gurgaon firm was raped by her accquaintance after getting her drunk.
Also the seven-year-old German woman rape case resurfaced recently with the rape convict Bitti Mohanty being captured by Kerala police after years of evading the police.
