Swipe made quite a name for itself with its recent affordable smartphone releases in India and the company is once again making a disruptive move, though this time it's in the ailing tablet market. Swipe has upgraded its tablet portfolio with an all-new X703 at an attractive price of Rs. 7,499. The new tablet is available exclusively on Snapdeal without any flash sales or registrations fiasco.
The ultra-affordable tablet supports voice calling, dual SIM and boasts a marathon battery for longer runtime. The tablet is designed for Indian users and students and supports Hindi language among other built-in features and apps. The company's offering in the tablet category comes at a time when the focus has shifted largely to smartphones and tablet sales are suffering. But at the price of Rs. 7,499, Swipe X703 can serve as a good option for budget shoppers.
"As a leading player in the smartphones space in India, we are committed to offer superior products to our customers every time," Shripal Gandhi, founder and CEO of Swipe Technologies, said in a statement. "After tremendous success of our previous products, it is important for us to live up to our customer's rising expectations. We continuously seek feedback from our users and incorporate them in our new offerings. Swipe X703 is an outcome of such customer engagement and it is ready to take the experience to the next level. It is a combination of innovation and technology that is designed to provide an ultimate tablet experience to its user."
In terms of specifications, Swipe features a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1280x800 pixels and 160ppi. It features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with fixed focus and a 2MP front snapper for selfies and video conferencing. The tablet's 6,000mAh battery is expected to last up to 6 hours of play time and 150 hours in standby. Despite such heavy battery, the overall weight of the Swipe X703 is half a kilogram.
The X703 tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and offers 8GB expandable storage. While the tablet supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G, it does not have 4G LTE support. The tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
Swipe recently launched its Elite Plus smartphone priced at Rs. 6,999. With the specs it offers, the handset easily stands firmly against phones like Lenovo Vibe K5, Coolpad Note 3 Lite, Meizu m2 and other similarly-priced devices in India.
