If you have been looking forward to the arrival of Maruti's Swift Dzire facelift, you need to wait a trifle longer.
The latest buzz on the web is that the country's largest car maker is likely to delay the launch of the sedan perhaps until March 2015. A tweet from Gaadiwaadi suggests that Maruti has been pushed into making the decision as the current version of the model is still in production, a large number of the old model still lined up at the company's stockyard.
The new avatar of the Dzire sedan was expected to reach the market before the close of 2014.
Maruti Swift Dzire facelift, the new avatar of the Dzire sedan has already made numerous appearances on cyber space, in disguised and undisguised avatars. Speaking of the engine line-up of new Swift Dzire, the model is likely to retain the same powerplant of the existing model 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre multijet diesel mills. However, expect the car to deliver better fuel effciency.
The facelift of Dzire is expected to have changes both inside and outside. In terms of styling, expect the Dzire facelift to get redesigned headlamps, single chrome slat on the grille, chrome fog lamp inserts and new alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the sedan is expected to get electrically adjustable wing mirrors, new upholstery, push start/stop button and six-speaker sound system with Bluetooth and iPod compatibility music system.
The Maruti Swift Dzire facelift is likely to get a price tag in the range of ₹5 to ₹8 lakh and will rival Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Zest in India.
