Suzuki Motor Corporation unveiled a special edition of Swift, christened as Swift X-Tra, at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show from 15 to 17 September. The limited edition is exclusive to Germany.
The most notable features on the car's exterior are the LED daytime running lights and the grille area with chrome touches. The 16-inch alloy wheels come in silver-black polish, adding an extra bit of sportiness. The Swift X-Tra also features rear window and darkened rear side windows.
Inside, the variant has violet decorative seams on the leather-wrapped steering wheel. The same theme has been applied on the seat cushion and the shift boot. Additionally, the Swift X-Tra features air conditioning with pollen filter, cruise control, an MP3 compatible CD radio and steering wheel controls.
On the safety front, the special edition comes with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and ABS with brake Assist. It boasts of an airbag system with seven airbags, including a knee airbag for the driver on board. The car also features ISOFIX child seat attachments on rear seats.
The Swift X-Tra comes with four cylinder, 1.2-litre VVT engine that develops 94hp at 6000apm and 118Nm at 4800rpm mated 5-speed manual transmission. The car has a top speed of 165kmph and 0-100kmph speed can be achieved in 12.3 seconds.
Maruti Suzuki has also launched a limited edition of the Swift, christened as Swift SP. Priced at Rs. 5.15 lakh, the Swift SP features an array of cosmetic upgrades over the regular Swift.
