It looks like rumours of the fully faired version of Gixxer 150 weren't rumours at all; at least that is what the latest spy shots suggest.
With the emergence of the first shots of Gixxer 150, it is almost confirmed that Japanese automobile giant Suzuki is getting ready to roll out a new version of Gixxer for Indian motor enthusiasts.
This is probably the first look at the Gixxer 150 with full fairing and the first set of spy shots of the bike came from folks at Motorbeam who snapped the bike on test in Delhi alongside the regular Gixxer.
From the images, the front end of the test mule was heavily camouflaged, and it appears like the fully faired version of Gixxer will get Hayabusa-styled headlight along with the windshield.
The new model, which is expected to be monikered GSX 150R is likely to get the same 154.9 cc four-stroke single cylinder air cooled engine under the hood, which can pump out a power of 14.8 PS @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6,000 rpm.
The sporty Gixxer 150 is also expected to come equipped with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology.
Speaking of other features, the fully faired Gixxer 150 is likely to borrow the body parts of its naked Gixxer including the foot pegs, tyres, exhaust, seat and fuel tank.
Expected to be unveiled in India sometime next year, the new Suzuki Gixxer is likely to cost around ₹20,000 more than the current naked Gixxer. Gixxer 150 is currently retailed with a price tag of ₹72,199 (ex-showroom Delhi).
When launched, the new fully faired version of Gixxer may face stiff competition from Bajaj Pulsar and Yamaha FZ.
